Imbuia.

Imbuia (Ocotea porosa) – is one of the most interesting types of exotic wood, also called the Brazilian walnut. Imbuia grows in the subtropical forests of southern Brazil, where it may reach up to 35 m in height. It can be easily identified by its beautiful purple flowers and its unusual shape – it frequently happens that two trees grow so tightly together that their boughs are entwined with each other. Imbuia, just as most of the exotic wood species, is characterized by perfect technical parameters: superior toughness, stability, lifespan and resistance to moisture. What makes the Imbuia wood so extraordinary is its unique and diversified colouring. The range of colours starts form beige, light yellow, delicate green through shining browns, saturated red ending up with deep black. Imbuia wood is also characterized by specific ring pattern-it is complex, irregular and every element is marked with different intensity.
