American Walnut.
American walnut grows only in central-west and northeastern part of the USA and southeast Canada. It is known all over the world as the American walnut or the Black walnut. American black walnut is a fast growing (annual increment amounts to 1,1 metre) tree which likes light and space, reaching a height of 25 to 30 m. Cylindrical trunk is usually regular with length of 15 to 18 metres and diameter up to 1 metre. Independently growing trees create a massive, spherical crowns. American walnut wood due to its decorative ring pattern and noble, dark colouring is used generally in interior designing and production of such objects as: furniture, floor or wainscoting. This wood can be specifically applied in production of musical instruments, buttstocks or decorative bu ttons. Because of its characteristic colouring, interesting ring pattern and perfect parameters, the American walnut is extremely valued utilitarian tree species.
